  • 助動詞について、すっかり忘れてますねえ。こういうチェックポイントがあるところは覚えているのですが、それを元に答えを導くには至らないという感じ。この辺は一回終わらせたくらいじゃ身に付かないのは重々承知なので、体得するまでには後3-4回は繰り返さないとならないでしょうね。
  • Can I open the window? Sure, go ahead.
    • 返答から、窓を開ける人はIであることを判断しなさい。
  • canの過去形
    • could: 習慣的学習能力があった
      • He could run very fast when he was young.
    • was able to: することが出来て、実際にやった

    • could have done: やろうと思えば出来たが、やらなかった。または、可能性があった。

    • 別に、was able to でも文意は通じるような気がするんだけどなあ。
  • submerge: to go under the surface of water, or to put something under water or another liquid.

  • won'tとかwouldn't -> 否定的な意思を表す。
    • He won't go to the dentist.
    • He wouldn't go to the dentist.
  • squeamish: easily shocked, upset or easily made to feel sick by unpleasant sight!
    • I could never be a nurse, I'm too squeamish.
  • vet: someone who is trained to give medical care and treatment to sick animals.
